Corazon, Comida y Comunidad.

At Angels Kitchen we recognize that for many in our community, basic human needs such as food and connection are not available.

Our Mission

Our mission moves us to respond to those needs. We hope to nourish body and spirit by offering wholesome meals prepared with love and served with kindness. How we serve is as important as what we serve.

Somos Solidarios.

The Values We Bring to the Table

Corazon Is Care

Meals served with dignity and kindness.

Servimos con respeto.

Comida Is Food

No one should go hungry.

Nadie debe pasar hambre.

Comunidad is Community

Together we lift each other up.

Juntos somos más fuertes.

The Sharing of Food Brings Us Together.

The work of Angels Kitchen is made possible by a dedicated community and local supporters who believe in the benefits a home-prepared meal offers. The continued generosity of our volunteers and supporters keeps Angels Kitchen ready, dependable and serving week after week.

Somos Solidarios.

Our Volunteers

Sean Olson & Tim Metz

I'm Sean Olson. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and spent 30 years in St. Louis before making Puerto Vallarta, Mexico our home four years ago. I received a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Missouri State University. My husband, Tim, and I spent 17 years building and operating three restaurants in St. Louis. Our years in the restaurant business taught us that food has a special way of bringing people together, creating connections, and making people feel welcome. I'm proud to be involved with Angels Kitchen. I'm grateful to call Puerto Vallarta home and for the opportunity to give back through Angels Kitchen. It's a privilege to be part of a mission that serves others with love and kindness, one person at a time.

Hi, my name is Tim Metz. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I'm one of 9 siblings. Food has always been a huge part of my upbringing. I started working in the restaurant industry when I was 13. I was a shy kid until then. The restaurant business became fused into my being. Later on my husband Sean and I opened 3 successful restaurants. I've always been a caregiver and Angels Kitchen was a perfect fit when Sean and I retired. We love being a part of the community we live in, and are grateful to have the opportunity to receive all the love we get back.

Our Founder

Sam Cress

Sam Cress has called Puerto Vallarta home for more than a decade. She brings heart to everything she does, whether guiding a yoga practice, offering a sound bath, or gathering people through Angels Kitchen. A community builder at heart, Sam creates opportunities for people to come together, connect, and experience our shared humanity—remembering that what we have in common runs deeper than what sets us apart.

Our Guests

Our guests are our neighbors—people of all ages and backgrounds who join us for many different reasons. Some are experiencing a difficult season, some are living with limited resources, and some simply value the warmth of a shared meal and community connection.

At Angels Kitchen, everyone is welcomed with a smile, a meal, and a place. We know a meal nourishes far more than hunger. It can offer comfort, connection, and the reminder that someone cares.

Our guests are not defined by what has brought them to us; each of us are part of the heart of this community.

Join us in turning small acts into lasting impact.
